Since graduating in 1986 from the University of South Australia , Cathy's background includes four years at the Wakefield Sports Clinic, during which time she gained her Level 2 Sports Physiotherapy certificate and was the team physiotherapist for the Adelaide Giants Baseball Club (ABL National League). Cathy also worked for three years at the Headache Clinic, specialising in the management of neck related headache. In 1996, she undertook a Master's degree in manipulative physiotherapy, which involved a year's postgraduate training in the diagnosis and advanced management of musculoskeletal problems. Cathy also worked as a clinical educator at the School of Physiotherapy , before she opened move , and since 1997 has undertaken extensive training in the Pilates method through Dance Medicine Australia ( Melbourne ) and Polestar Education ( Miami , Florida).

Peter is co-principal of Move. Graduating in 1996 Peter's experience has included working in Australia and the United Kingdom . His field of expertise is in the management of back pain, neck pain and headaches using manual therapy and the Pilates Method of exercise. In addition to this he has a background in occupational health and industrial physiotherapy, and offers individual home and work-place based ergonomic assessments where it is considered that poor set up in these areas may be contributing to stubborn pain presentations. Having recently become a dad Peter is also very interested on the impact of pregnancy and parenthood on the body, and the use of exercise in the prevention of muscle and joint problems in new (and not so new) parents. Peter brings a great depth of personal experience in the sporting arena, having been part of the Australian Junior Indoor Volleyball team, the SASI Men's Indoor Volleyball team, and competing in the Australian National and State Volleyball Leagues with Mt. Lofty . Peter's Pilates training is through Polestar Education ( Miami , Florida ), the Pilates Institute of Australasia ( Sydney ) and the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute ( London ).

Joining us in 2003, Leng brought to the practice a Masters degree in Sports Physiotherapy from the University of South Australia . Leng was admitted to the Gold Key Honour Society as a student, in recognition of outstanding academic achievement. She has experience at providing sports physiotherapy services to athletes through her work at SportsMed SA, as well as looking after the under 16 State softball squad. Prior to entering private practice, Leng worked at Modbury hospital, where she was voted Allied Health Person of the Year! Leng's Pilates training is through the Pilates Institute of Australasia (Sydney).

Maryanne joined the move team in 2005 bringing a wealth of experience and postgraduate physiotherapy training. She completed her masters of manipulative physiotherapy in Sydney in 1996 after gaining Level 1 and 2 Sports Certificates and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) in 1991. Prior to commencing work at move, Maryanne has worked in private practice in Sydney both treating patients and running Pilates based exercise classes. She has tutored undergraduate physiotherapists at Sydney University and more recently worked with elite athletes in a sports physiotherapy practice in Canberra . Maryanne joins move having recently moved to Adelaide and returning to work from maternity leave. She is involved in our Pre/Post Natal Pilates classes in addition to the studio Pilates classes.

Since graduating in 1999 and spending a year working in her home land of New Zealand , Penny has established a broad range of experience and knowledge from her work in New Zealand , the United Kingdom , Ecuador and Guatemala . Moving to Adelaide in 2004, Penny is currently back at uni completing a Masters in Public Health while working at Move part time. Her background brings to the practice skills in various clinical areas including management of sports injuries, arthritis, low back pain and chronic injuries. Penny's Pilates training is with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute, London .

Christine Barry completed her Masters of Physiotherapy (Manipulative Physiotherapy, University of South Australia ) in 1998 after gaining Level 1 and 2 Sports Certificates in 1997 and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) in 1986.

Prior to commencing work at Move, Christine has been a clinical educator for masters and undergraduate physiotherapy students at the University of SA , a researcher for the Centre for Allied Health Evidence and for 10 years had her own physiotherapy clinic. Christine is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Australia . With 2 young children, Christine has a particular interest in the benefits of Pilates for new mothers.
