Welcome to HeadachePhysio.com.au
Several of the physiotherapists at Move have undertaken significant further training in the assessment and management of headache, and have been treating headache sufferers for more than 15 years.
Additionally, from 2006 - 2010 we were in the unique position of working alongside internationally recognised and innovative physiotherapist Dean Watson, whilst we operated his clinic (The Headache Clinic) under a licence agreement, within Move's 3 locations.
Dean Watson's treatment approach featured on national television in 2012, on the Today Tonight show, which included an explanation of how it works and the great results physiotherapists using the technique have had. Not surprisingly this exposure on national television has further increased the demand for this type of natural Headache and Migraine treatment. Dean's theory suggests that all types of headache (including tension type headache, classic and common migraine, menstrual migraine and even cluster headache) have a common link (sensitivity in part of the brainstem called the Trigemino-Cervical Nucleus) which can be caused by neck problems.
Even if the trigger of your headache is something unrelated to your neck, the fact that the neck may have made that nucleus sensitive is the key to unlocking your Headaches! A skilled assessment by Headache Practitioners at Move Physiotherapy can very quickly determine if this is part of your headache problem and they can put together a treatment programme for you.
Move physiotherapists have delivered thousands of these treatments to Headache and Migraine sufferers, with excellent results.
Physiotherapists who have undertaken advanced theoretical and practical training (including personal training with Dean Watson) are listed as Headache Practitioners on Our Physiotherapists page (click here).
Our approach to managing headaches at Move has also broadened to also include management of stress factors (through meditation), Pain Neuro-Science education and correcting muscle control deficits (with programmes developed through research at the University of Queensland).
After your assessment we will talk you through the contributors to your Headache problem, and formulate a personalised and unique treatment plan just for you.
